Individual counselling is a development process that helps the individual to get to know himself/herself, to understand his/her own feelings, thoughts and behaviours, to increase his/her self-awareness, to improve himself/herself and to reach his/her goals, and to gain problem-solving skills in order to cope with personal, social, academic and professional problems faced by the individual. This process takes place in a safe environment based on the principle of confidentiality between the psychological counsellor and the client.
