On October 15, 2025, a seminar titled “Tobacco Addiction and the Importance of Early Diagnosis in Cancer” was held at our university by the Artvin Provincial Health Directorate Community Health Center. During the seminar, experts from the Public Health Center informed our university students about the harms of tobacco and its negative effects on human health, the addiction process and methods of quitting, and early diagnosis of cancer.

The seminar emphasized the slogan “When Artvin has smoke, there is no need for other smoke,” which was declared by the Ministry of Health for Artvin as a “Smoke-Free City.”
